Dr. Julio Delgado is a consultant hematologist at Hospital Clínic, Barcelona, researcher at IDIBAPS, and associate professor at the University of Barcelona. He is the co-ordinator and principal investigator of the CART19-BE-01 trial, the first Spanish academic clinical trial evaluating the role of CART19 cells in B-cell malignancies. He is a founding member of the Spanish Group of CARs and Spanish Group for CLL and runs most CLL and CART-cell clinical trials at Hospital Clínic. He has acted as an advisor to the European Medicines Agency, the Spanish Medicines Agency and the Catalan Pharmacotherapy Committee, and is a member of Hospital Clínic’s Advanced Therapies Committee and also the Institution’s Review Board and Ethics Committee.
