Basile Stamatopoulos is professor at University of Brussels (ULB) in Belgium and a PI in the Laboratory of Clinical Cell Therapy of Dr Laurence Lagneaux, part of the Department of Hematology of Jules Bordet Institute (Brussels, Belgium). He is a molecular biologist and completed his PhD in biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences in University of Brussels (ULB, Belgium) on the physiopathology, the prognostic factors and the new treatment strategies of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL).The group of Basile Stamatopoulos is particularly interested in the interaction between leukemic cells with the cells of their microenvironment. His current project focuses on leukemic extracellular vesicles and how they can manipulate the immune microenvironment.
