Dr Thomas Lew (MBBS BMedSci) is a Haematology fellow at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Royal Melbourne Hospital, and a PhD candidate at Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical research, who aspires to bring scientific discoveries into clinical practice. His research focuses of novel therapeutic approaches in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia and other B-cell malignancies, and has been published in multiple high-impact journals, including Blood, Blood Advances, the British Journal of Haematology and Cancer Discovery, with >900 citations collectively (Google Scholar). He has received numerous young investigator awards for presentations at international conferences, including the American Society of Hematology and the European Haematology Association. He was awarded the inaugural Melbourne Academic Centre for Health PhD scholarship (MACH-Track) and an NHMRC post graduate PhD scholarship for early career clinician-scientists of exceptional potential. Thomas is passionate about improving care for patients with haematological malignancies, bringing new approaches to clinical practice and the education of emerging health care professionals. Outside of medicine, he enjoys creating and experiencing theatre, running, and quality time with his wonderful and supportive family.
