Claudia Perez Carretero is a postdoctoral investigator in the group of Dr. Jesús María Hernández Rivas at the University of Salamanca (Spain), focused on the study of the genetics of chronic lymphocytic leukemia. She obtained her BSc degree in biotechnology in 2017 and she did her PhD studies (2018-2023) working on the molecular characterization of patients with rare cytogenetic abnormalities by high-throughput sequencing and CRISPR/Cas9 technologies, reproducing the genetic alterations observed in patients and assessing their biological impact on the B cell. In 2022, she did a short stay in the laboratory of DR. Santos Susin in the Centre de Recherche des Cordeliers (Paris), studying the biological consequences of the alterations identified in CLL patients on cellular metabolism. Nowadays, she is a member of the group Dr. Jesús María Hernández Rivas under a fellowship from the Spanish Foundation of Hematology and Hemoteraphy (FEHH).
