Erika Tissino is a researcher at the Clinical and Experimental Onco-Hematology Unit of the Centro di Riferimento Oncologico (CRO) in Aviano, Italy. She graduated in Medical Biotechnology at University of Trieste and she obtained her PhD in Biomedical Sciences and Biotechnology at University of Udine, Italy. She focused her studies on the lymphoid malignancies, in particular on chronic lymphocytic leukemia. In this context, her research contributions focused on the phenotypic characterization of this clinically heterogeneous lymphoid malignancy, and on the microenvironmental interactions of these malignant cells, highlighting the central role played by the adhesion molecule VLA-4.
