Group Leader, Division of Molecular Genetics
German Cancer Research Center
Heidelberg, Germany
Martina Seiffert is heading the group «Immune Modulation in Cancer» within the Division of Molecular Genetics at the German Cancer Research Center (dkfz) in Heidelberg. She is interested in immune modulatory mechansism in the tumor microenvironment, with a focus on chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
Using innovative single-cell omics approaches, her team analyses the immune and stromal compartment of human and murine samples to decipher tumor-supportive and immunosuppressive mechanisms and to suggest novel immunotherapy targets. The lab has established various coculture models of primary patient samples, as well as mouse models, that are used for studying disease biology as well as for pre-clinical testing of drugs.
Martina Seiffert is a member of national and international research associations, heads various third-party funded projects and coordinates international research consortia.
